Introduction about leadership
Leadership means motivating a group of people in
achieving a common goal. So leadership is very much important in any field.
So here,
I would like to give an example of where I have showed my leadership quality in
my degree.
Situation
Fancy Dress group competition held at our college in a month of December, 2016 where I was the group leader of that competition and I was taken that responsibility to make plan about fancy dress and take concept of Tulunada Vibava. Some friends are not aware of how it was and some are do not have idea about that. So I explained them what is tulunad vibava and how people are celebrated. I showed picture and video of tulunad people are celebrated Kambala, Bhootha kola, Yakshagana, etc.
They do not know about that, after I showed video we
discussed in group and I asked do you have any idea and how we make it
different. I gave part to them and we prepare together for competition.
Analysis
When I was gave the part to everyone. I had to build
a team who could support me and share their ideas to completing the task. I
gave name to the competition. During the program it necessary for me to build a
team members and everything went according to the plan. Leaders set direction
and create something new to complete the task, team members are share their
opinion to create something new.
Communication is a very important role. Before I was
gave a specific role, I must explain what is tulunad vibava and how people
celebrated in tulunad. I asked what their ideas are and opinions, talk to that
person who was taking the role and make sure anything extra role were required.
I had very responsive. On the day of competition
take all the required materials. So i along with my team members took
responsibility to take things. All are responsive to ready on time and arrange
it.
Division of work is was very important role because
there were many responsibilities. I had 10 members in my group. So i gave role
to everyone to make better in competition. Without a division of work we cannot
compete. So everyone take role in group.
A leader should always confident in team. I had
confident in my team because i one of the person in tulunad. It is important to
have confidence in your team because only then you will be able to do your
responsibility well. We were successful in competition.
When someone asked help from me, i helped them and i
personally asked my friends who are allocated other responsibility. Whenever i
free, i helped those who wanted help. Leader means he/she can do only their
work, they can be help others if needed.
Conclusion
To conclude, I would say democratic leadership style
can call as best one. Actually leadership style is depending upon the situation
that he/she faces. A leadership is affected by type of the organization of work
in confidence with teammates, leader communication with group, take their
opinion and idea about the concept, etc.
Though I have taken up the responsibility in various
activities like, president in primary school and sports in school and college
days, this is the first time I took the responsibility of competition and give
role to the group and went according to the plan, it is a part of college day.
It is a wonderful experience and I want to take more
responsibilities and role in future.
